DUE TO LOVE
Logline
After living in Europe for some time, a young woman visits her Middle-Eastern family for just one dinner. But the past haunts her with memories of her unspoken lesbian relationship. How much longer can she hold it together?
Director's Note
This film is quite personal. I had the necessity to speak about certain taboos that really haunted me, and channelled them into my Graduation Film, also to dig deep into why we hurt the ones we love the most, and learn to understand them, regardless of the moral gap.
I don't think the topic of queerness in the Middle-East is shown enough in movies, and I'm happy I had the chance to have my own share of it.

UNDERNEATH THE VEIL
Logline
The film is about Lana Diamond, a young transgender woman who grew up in Lebanon in a muslim household, travels to Ukraine hoping to find freedom in her womanhood, only to flee the war, and emancipates as a female dancer in Berlin.
Director's Note
The way I met Lana is quite the story: I went to a bar in Berlin and randomly asked someone for a cigarette: this person was Lana Diamond. A week later, we started shooting the film. From that moment on, since it was my first documentary, Lana's story was so rich that I decided to have almost no interference with it and very little planning, only a camera to capture it all. And just like that, the film shot itself.

BEYOND THE SELF
Logline
A young man, obsessed with self-control and testing his mental capacities, takes drugs. We witness different phases of his mental journey, playing with the use of image and sound to display different emotions and situations occurring, all in one space, seemingly on his own...
Director's Note
This short was built on the concept of analysing my own tendencies of self control and self-diagnosis. I was trying to imagine myself one day taking drugs, and seeing what my mind could be going through in this given situation.

SELF PORTRAIT
Director's Note
This film was the first tasked video by the university to present ourselves. I find it quite significant, because as simple as it is, it shows rather clearly my style of film from the very beginning: introspective narrative, written philosophically & poetically, and with music involved.
